I have ManagePC installed on a Windows 7 Professional workstation.  Often times when I scan a remote pc, I will get the below message popup right as the scan is completing.

"Error retrieving services:  An exception occurred during the operation, making the result invalid.  Check InnerException for exception details."

I click on the OK button and then I can view the results of the scan but the "Services" tab is empty.  The rest of the tabs have all been populated with info though.

It doesn't happen on every workstation I scan though.  So far, it's happened when scanning Windows XP Pro workstations.

I've not tested it against Windows 7 machines yet.  Still to come

Thanks for the followup Matt.  Actually I installed/ran ManagePC on a Windows 7 workstation, but the remote pc that I scanned was running Windows XP Pro and I got the error when trying to read the services from that XP computer.

I do have ManagePC installed on a 2nd workstation of mine that is running XP Pro so I ran the same scan on that remote XP computer and got the same message about error retrieving services.  Not sure that this helps or not, but I don't think there's any log or anything I can post from this.

The logfile might say something.  It should be in the same folder as the executable

I ran another scan on the comptuer in question and got the same message.  It's a bit odd as other computers do retrieve the services info correctly.  Not sure what is going on.  I did check the log file and there is nothing in there unfortunately.  I've posted it below for your reference.  (I substituted ******** for the computer name.)

ManagePC generally shows that this computer is on a slow network, even though it is actually on the same ring that my scan pc is.  I pinged the pc from a command prompt and posted below the results I get consistently for that computer.

I did run the scan a 2nd time on the computer, and after an extended delay (about 1.5 minutes), ManagePC finished the scan and this time did have the services information populated.  This issue isn't something I come across a lot, so it's not a huge deal, but figured I'd pass on what info I could.

Here's the ping result for that comptuer:

Pinging ********.****.****.**** [ip address removed] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from "ip address removed": bytes=32 time=8ms TTL=128
Reply from "ip address removed": bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128
Reply from "ip address removed": bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=128
Reply from "ip address removed": bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

Ping statistics for "ip address removed":
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 8ms, Average = 2ms
